Take Home Packs

Our Take Home Packs are handcrafted and made with fresh ingredients weekly. Our goal is to create authentic food that everyone can enjoy at home without making a mess or spending a lot of time preparing for it. Our Bao is full of flavor and fully cooked; all you have to do is heat it up. So, what is the best way to warm up our handcrafted and delicious bao? There are several recommended ways:

Simply place our product on a microwave safe container and warm it up in Microwave for about 1 to 2 mins or until the product reaches internal temperature of 165 °F.

Simply steam our product using a bamboo steamer or steam pot. Make sure to place a piece of parchment paper under the product for best result. Steam the product for about 8 to 10 mins or until the product reaches internal temperature of 165 °F.

Another way to enjoy our BAO is pan-fried vs. steam using a skillet to create a crispy bottom. Simply add a little oil in the skillet then place our bao once the oil is heat up. Sear the bao for about 1 to 2 mins; then add in water that cover half-way of the bao and cover w the lid. Cook until the water started to evaporate then uncover and cook for another min or so or until the product reaches internal temperature of 165 °F.

Those are the recommended method to enjoy our handcrafted BAO. Would love to hear how you consume our BAO?

What is Bao Bun?

Our Story

One of my greatest memories growing up was when my mom makes us Bao. It is usually an all-day event as it is labor intensive but a fun thing for the whole family to be involved. I have always wanted to share those experiences with my children but our busy lifestyle often got in the way. During the pandemic with the extra time being at home, I decided to give it a try. After several testing and trying, I was able to come up with a product that taste like how my mom made it.

We believe “food” is a way to connect with others and share our culture so we decided to share it with everyone in the Bloomington/Normal community.

Hope you enjoy and share the love of “bao” with others.
